FORCE OF NATURE

Sculptor Larry Whitely and I paired up for an exhibition of work descriptive of our shared muse - the natural world.

Opening March 23rd, and continuing through May, the show featured Whiteley's large piece entitled "Storm," a stainless tree blowing with the wind's force and weighted by a triangular concrete pedestal. Also shown were lyrical bronze twigs with bird's perched on them, stainless nests full of glass eggs, and a giant hammered steel "pod" on a pedestal of rock in the main gallery space. The walls were mine, and my latest large canvases. "Nightwoods," an 8 ft. tall canvas of woven, twisted boughs and twigs, loomed over the front space, with works on paper, drawings and other abstract landscapes on view. Pulling touches of nature throughout the space treated the viewers to the sights and smells of nature - rock, branches, mosses and ferns - all combined to conjured a sense of The Force of Nature.
